ilta tuoksuu talvelta taas.
Eteisessä ovi
uneni hämyssä lukitaan.

Istun pöydällä aikaa,

English translation:

Eyes to my heart

Okay I've found many different translations of Indica's songs from the net, but I've noticed a lot of mistakes in them and so I wanted to make my own translations...here might be new mistakes and probably is, so please feel free to correct me if you notice any and also what comes to the "right" and "wrong" translations, it's good to remember that Indica's songs are Finnish poetry which is extremely hard to translate and there's as many ways to do it as there's translators.. :D
 I'll correct these when I notice mistakes by myself too... so here's at the beginning to Maniya and all the others who might be interested to read these. : )

P.S. The words inside these () are put there to make the sentence more clear, even if the word wouldn't excist in the Finnish text at all.

Here's a joke letter, which came to our mailbox recently, I've translated it to the formal Finnish and English. In the end there's some annotations. First there's the original text in the Turku dialect, then in official Finnish and then in English:

Annotations:

*pingottaa = This verb comes originally from the "pinko" noun, which is used
from a person who is VERY thorough and good at doing work or studying at school and stresses
a lot about his/her duties. So when somebody uses this verb, it means that he/she is doing it very intensively and really stresses about it.

**The reason why I put these () around word "sinä" is that at this situation you don't really have to say or write this word at all (but you can say/write it if you want, it just sounds a bit funny), because everybody still understands that here the one who the writer is talking to is "sinä = you".

***Suarit= There actually is this word in the formal Finnish too, it's verb "suorittaa",
 but the reason why I put the verb "tehdä" (tee) on the place of "suarit/suorittaa" in the formal Finnish translation,
is that "suorittaa" verb is not used in this case and with those words in the formal Finnish.

****Klo = This is overally used abbreviation from the word "kello = o'clock". Where to use it depends on the situation...

*****Tehdä jotakin täydellä teholla = A Finnish phrase. One translation would be "doing something with all you've got",
Usually you use this when talking about some machine or engine doing its task almost to its limit in a factory or something.
But nowadays it's very common when talking about people too.

******Revi = Basic form: Repiä, In English: rip/tear/snag. I put "raada (basic: raataa), in English: fag (at)" to formal Finnish, because "repiä" isn't used in this situation, thought the word is still used in formal Finnish in different situations like "I'll rip my pants off = (Minä) revin housut päältäni". XDXD

Hope you understood even something^^, I still have lots to learn about English and I'm not very good at explaining things, especially about Finnish because to the native speaker the most common things in his/her language are usually so obvious that it feels a bit strange to explain them, if you know what I mean. :D

I'm a human being so I make mistakes, so I'd be very happy if you corrected me in case you find any mistakes.
And feel free to ask if there's something you don't understand.
